Go for a walk or ride before or after a meal with us. We are situated just across the road from the fabulous Railway Reserves Heritage Trail which runs directly opposite our front door, on the other side of Jane Brook.
To access the trail, walk across the road from the tavern, over the little bridge that spans Jane Brook, and up the windy track. Head along the trail in a westerly direction and in just under 1km you will arrive at Falls Park. This is a beautiful spot to stop and admire the flowing waterfall in late autumn, winter and early spring, as well as featuring an abundance of wildflowers in spring.
If you’re feeling fit, and you have a good supply of water with you, keep heading west along the the trail, approximately 4km from Falls Park, and you’ll find Hovea Falls in John Forrest National Park. This stunning location offers exceptional photo opportunities, with a sweeping vista and flowing falls in late autumn, winter and early spring. John Forrest National Park is also a fabulous location for wildflowers in spring and early summer.
If history’s your thing, check out the circular Heritage Pub Walk, starting and finishing at The Parky, put together by local historian, Rob Borsje. It’s just 2.5 km and takes in historic points of interest along the way.
